Love timing

There are several methods you can use to predict the potential for a new relationship or a significant period in love and romance. However, a reliable prediction can only be made when a recurring theme shows up across multiple predictive techniques. This is known as the ‘Rule of Three’, the event or theme should appear at least three times in different methods (e.g., transits, progressions, solar return) to be considered as likely to manifest.

Most useful methods :

1) Transits = current planetary influence
2) Solar Return = horoscope for one year
3) Profections = timelord method & highlighted themes of the year
4) Venus Return = reset in love, new cycle
5) Progressions = psychological evolution
6) Solar Arc = life events

Important planets :
• 7th house ruler = Trigger point for relationships
• Venus / Mars = Natural significators for Love & lust/action
• Moon = Acts as an event trigger mostly in Transit charts & progression
• Saturn = Acts as commitment
• Jupiter = Acts as luck & expansion
• ASC & it’s ruler = Yourself involved
• Northnode = Acts as a fated portal

Aspects :
• Conjunction = Opening, new beginning
• Sextile = Opportunities, a bridge
• Trine = Natural compatibility, flow, but also drama
• Opposition = Attraction, trigger, culmination

Type of person :
• Venus = A love interest
• Ruler of 7th = A relationship
• Sun = A man
• Moon = A woman
• Mars = A sexual interest

*NA = Natal chart

1) Transits = T

Transits are happening constantly, but timing is key when it comes to predicting a period in which a significant romantic meeting could occur. The 5th and 7th houses are often activated or involved during such times. Keep in mind, however, that the 7th house doesn’t only represent romantic partners, it can also indicate colleagues, business partners, enemies, strangers, or long-term contracts. The aspects listed here are specifically focused on romantic potential and emotionally significant encounters.
”Romance begins in the 5th house, commitment starts in the 7th house”

• T Venus in 1st, 5th or 7th
• T Jupiter in 4th, 5th or 7th
• T Venus conjunct ASC / DSC or 7th ruler
• T Venus conjunct Mars
• T Venus conjunct Northnode
• T Jupiter conjunct Mars, Venus or 7th ruler
• T Jupiter Trine/Sextile Venus or 7th ruler
• T Saturn Trine/Sextile Mars, Venus or 7th ruler
• T Uranus Trine/Opposite Venus
• T New Moon in 5th or 7th house
• T Venus conjunct Neptune transiting through 5th or 7th
• T Uranus to Venus often shows a temporary/sudden relationship
• T Saturn to Venus often shows a serious relationship
• T Pluto to Venus often shows ‘The lover of life’ (karmic)
2) Solar Return = SR

A Solar Return (SR) chart can absolutely indicate the potential for new relationships. When combined with transits, it becomes a powerful tool for predicting the beginning of a romantic connection or a period of heightened attraction or interest. Together, these two methods form the foundation for love prediction.

One key indicator is when the SR Ascendant falls in the same sign, or is conjunct, the natal Ascendant. This often signals a major personal reset or new chapter in life. Similarly, a New Moon in the Solar Return chart points to fresh emotional beginnings, including the possibility of meeting someone significant.

• Juno conjunct Sun = year of meeting spouse, karmic commitment, fated partner
• SR ASC in Taurus or Libra = deep focus onto values, relationships and the sensual side of life
• SR Moon in 1st, 4th, 7th or 10th = emotional ‘new beginnings’
• SR Moon in Libra = relationship oriented
• SR Jupiter in 5th or 7th = expansion
• SR 7th ruler conjunct SR ASC or DSC
• SR 7th ruler in SR 7th house
• SR Venus conjunct SR ASC = attracting people
• SR Uranus Trine/Square SR Venus = sudden attraction, unusual
• SR Neptune in 5th = often the year of falling in love
• Stellium in Libra = emphasis onto relationships
• SR Venus in natal 1st, 5th or 7th house
• SR Venus conjunct NA Moon, Jupiter or 7th ruler
• SR Venus AND Moon both in cardinal sign or house
• SR Venus conjunct natal Venus = reset in values and love, activation of natal promise
• SR Venus in the same sign as natal Venus = activation of natal promise
3) Lunar Return = LR

The Lunar Return (LR) chart is a useful method to narrow down timing when the Solar Return (SR) chart suggests a year focused on love. While the SR points to the broader theme, the LR can help pinpoint the specific month when a romantic development may occur.

A key indicator is when the LR Ascendant falls in the same sign as the SR Ascendant, commonly signs like Taurus or Libra, both linked to love and connection. To understand the circumstances, look to the 7th house in the Lunar Return chart, its ruler, and the aspects it receives. These factors reveal the quality and dynamics of relational experiences during that month.

• LR ASC in Taurus or Libra (same as the Solar return ASC)
• LR Moon Trine/Sextile or Conjunct LR 7th ruler (orb 0-3 degrees)
• LR Moon Trine/Sextile or Conjunct LR Sun
• LR ASC ruler in LR 7th or 10th
• LR ASC conjunct NA DSC
4) Venus Return = VR

This method is specifically focused on matters of love and relationship. Hard aspects often signal a shift in relationship status, whether it’s the beginning of a new connection or the end of an existing one. In the Venus Return (VR) chart, the Descendant (DSC) is a key point for understanding how relationships will unfold in the year ahead. For example, if the DSC falls in Aquarius, it may indicate relational changes, a desire for freedom, or unconventional dynamics. Similar themes appear when Venus or the 7th house ruler is in aspect with Uranus.

The aspects Venus receives in the VR chart can reveal the context or environment in which you might meet a partner. For instance, if Venus is aspected by the 12th house ruler, it could suggest a hidden or private meeting, something behind the scenes. If Venus is aspected by the 6th house ruler, the encounter may happen through daily routines, at work, or in service-oriented settings. These clues help build a symbolic picture of when and how relational developments may take place.

1) What is the VR DSC
2) In which house is Venus
3) What aspects does Venus receive
4) Which house rulers are aspecting Venus
5) Which house rulers are aspecting the 7th ruler
6) Are the ASC and DSC in aspect to each other

• VR Venus in VR 1st, 5th or 7th house
• VR 7th ruler in VR 7th house
• VR ASC in Taurus or Libra
• VR 7th ruler in aspect to VR ASC ruler
5) Progressions = P

The progressed chart reveals important life events and inner psychological shifts. When interpreting it, focus primarily on the inner planets and angles, as these reflect personal development most clearly. You can analyze the progressed chart on its own or in comparison to the natal chart to identify potential triggers for change.

This principle also applies to progressed synastry: compare the progressed chart of Person A to the natal chart of Person B (or vice versa) to uncover significant relational dynamics and timing markers.
Most effective when the orb is 0-1 degrees

• P Venus changing sign = changing values and that what you feel attracted to
• P Sun or Moon conjunct one of the angles
• P Venus conjunct/harmonious aspect to natal Sun or Moon, and vice versa
• P Mars changing sign = changing sexual desires, different drive & motives
• P Moon going into the 7th house
• Progressed planet conjunct Sun-Moon midpoint
• P Venus or 7th ruler conjunct NA NorthNode = karmic romance
• P Saturn Trine/Sextile NA Venus or 7th ruler
• Personal new moon (Progressed Moon conjunct Natal Moon) = either a breakup or new relationship
• P 7th ruler conjunct Venus
• P Venus Trine/Sextile NA ASC
• P Venus Trine/Conjunct NA Mars
• P Moon conjunct NA Sun
• P Mars opposite natal Venus, or vice versa = attraction of a romantic interest
6) Solar Arc = SA

The Solar Arc chart is another powerful tool for identifying major life events. Unlike in the progressed chart, all planets, inner and outer, are active and relevant in Solar Arc directions, since they all move forward uniformly. This makes Solar Arc especially useful for tracking outer planet influences, which tend to move too slowly to create significant change in most progressed charts.
Most effective when the orb is 0-1 degrees

• SA Moon Trine/Sextile/Conjunct DSC
• SA Saturn Trine/Sextile/Conjunct DSC
• SA Venus conjunct DSC
• SA Northnode Trine/Sextile Venus or 7th ruler
• SA Pluto Trine/sextile Saturn
• SA DSC conjunct Venus or 7th ruler

In most cases, key indicators show clearly across all at least 3 predictive charts. In the Progressed and Solar Arc charts, significant aspects are usually exact or within a tight orb of 1° applying, though a meeting can still occur when the orb is within 1–2°.

New Moons in any of these charts are especially powerful, particularly when they occur in one of the relationship houses: the 1st, 4th, 5th, or 7th. I’ve also observed a consistent pattern where the year a potential partner is met often features a Leo Ascendant in the Solar Return chart, while the year the relationship begins to manifest often features a Taurus or Libra Ascendant, both Venus-ruled signs associated with love and partnership.

Hard aspects, especially in Solar Return, Progressed, or Solar Arc charts, can also indicate the beginning of a relationship, but with challenges, friction, or secrecy. These may point to difficult circumstances around the meeting or emotional complexities within the relationship itself. The more harmonious the aspects, the smoother and more supportive the relational experience is likely to be.

These methods can also reveal the theme of the relationship, especially when you see repeating planetary contacts across charts, such as between the same two planets in Solar Return, Progressions, or Solar Arc, and again in the synastry chart between you and the other person. This pattern becomes even more meaningful when you have the partner’s exact birth information to work with.
